Very very thin strands, so a very small sound, so not bad when you really have to play softly. However, 1 gig with 3 sets and 2 strands of the same stick came off at their base, so luckily it was on sale for 22 bucks... The fact that it's a stick is great for the rim-shot. They are quite balanced despite everything. I will test those with slightly thicker strands to see.
