Essential Information About the Prodipe A1 Duo Condenser Microphones

  • Pair of small-diaphragm microphones for precise and natural sound capture in both studio and live settings.
  • Unidirectional polar pattern for excellent off-axis rejection and better source isolation.
  • 100 Hz high-pass filter (12 dB/oct) to control rumble and proximity effect.
  • Supplied with two clips and two windshields, ready for stereo configurations (XY, ORTF, spaced).

A Duo Inspired by Classic "Pencil Microphones"

The Prodipe A1 Duo follows in the tradition of the famous small-diaphragm "pencil" microphones, renowned for their linear frequency response and high fidelity. Designed to offer an affordable alternative without sacrificing precision, this set ensures transparent reproduction of acoustic instruments on stage and in the studio.

For Musicians, Sound Engineers, and Demanding Creators

Whether you are a sound engineer, home-studio enthusiast, or stage manager, the A1 Duo excels on strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitar), pianos, woodwinds, brass, cymbals, and percussion. Live, its unidirectional pattern limits bleed. In the studio, the pair allows coherent and easily positionable stereo recordings.

Features Designed for Modern Sound Capture

The small-diaphragm capsule delivers clear transients and a precise sound image, ideal for capturing the attack of a guitar or the shimmer of cymbals. The extended frequency response from 30 Hz to 18 kHz covers the essential useful spectrum while remaining musical and free of harshness.

The 100 Hz high-pass filter, with a 12 dB per octave slope, helps clean up unwanted vibrations, footstep noise, or hum. With a maximum sound pressure level of 134 dB SPL at 1% distortion, the A1 handles dynamic sources like an energetic snare drum or a fortissimo piano without flinching.

As a duo, it becomes a formidable tool for natural stereo recordings: drum overheads, string ensembles, piano, choirs, or ambiances. All with a sensitivity calibrated to maintain a good signal-to-noise ratio and limit room coloration.

Excellent equipment, however requiring phantom power (which I was unaware of until a consultant explained it to me). The microphones are of very good quality. I am not a specialist but I notice that the capture of an instrument is very precise, especially in a multi-instrument environment. I use it in rehearsal and the violin is perfectly amplified despite the proximity of other instruments (trumpet, saxophone, flute, piano, and drums).

Hello, I just received the A1 DUO Mics, excellent like the other Prodipe mics. Installed on the Charleston (left side) and the cymbals on the right side to also capture a snare drum. The sound output is incredibly accurate. Live or studio, this French company really delivers with the quality of its products. Have fun on stage. ;=)

Small diaphragm condenser microphones that are almost on par with my Oktava MK12 for 4 times less expensive. A good discovery. A.M.

Very good small microphones, the background noise (amplifier) rises very quickly with the gain. For acoustic guitars, you need to lower the gain and bring them closer to compensate. For the Oud or the violin, whose playing can be more "powerful", it works very well. Ideal to start a small stereo setup
