If Bob already knew he was an entrepreneur at heart for a few years, it was his friend Everett Hull, founder of Ampeg, who gave him the necessary momentum to get started, with an order of 18 speakers! A number that seems tiny compared to the 10,000 units produced daily by the same company 10 years later, but which represented a nice contract in 1966. Without hesitation, Bob decided to seize this opportunity, he resigned from CTS and founded his company in a small town called Eminence.
The rise of rock'n'roll and, consequently, amplifier manufacturers, proved him right, as customers quickly multiplied with 100% customized orders.
