EKO Ranger Vi Eq Vintage Reissue Dreadnought Vintage Natural

Description

Ranger Vintage Reissue VI Electro Natural

The Eko Ranger Vintage Reissue guitars offer a faithful modernized reissue of the 6- and 12-string Ranger models that marked the 1960s and 1970s with their unmistakable Italian lines. These acoustic and electro-acoustic models retain the decidedly vintage design and very recognizable technical elements, such as their characteristic pickguard, spruce and mahogany construction, bolt-on neck, as well as the headstock with the Eko block logo. The Ranger VR are perfect folk guitars for beginners thanks to their unbeatable value for money and elegant retro look.

Once upon a time in Eastern Italy.
The Ranger VI is clearly one of those guitars with a unique reputation, whose lines every guitarist has seen at some point in their life. This true legend was born in the 1960s in Eko’s workshops in Italy, where it was successively named J-52, then J-54, before becoming the Ranger we all know. Renowned for their rock-solid durability and simply exceptional value for money, the Ranger VI left their mark in guitar history with their characteristic mustache-shaped pickguard.

A reliable and retro electro for every budget.
The Ranger Vintage Reissue is a modern reissue of this folk guitar in Dreadnought format, also called Western, with a large and deep body producing generous bass, powerful mids, and pleasant highs. The spruce top, which provides precision and clarity, is supported by a sapelli mahogany back and sides, offering good sustain and excellent durability. The bolt-on mahogany neck, with its low C profile, offers excellent playing comfort for all hands and features a double-action truss rod, allowing you to adjust the action precisely to your needs. The aluminum nut, zero fret, and adjustable saddle nut further help you find your ideal playing comfort and play your notes with accuracy and inspiration. Its simple and effective Fishman Sonitone GP1 preamp system allows you to amplify your playing reliably.

And for a few more guitars.
The Ranger is probably one of the most diversified models in Eko’s acoustic guitar catalog, notably with its Vintage Reissue (VR) series. Available in two different colors, Vintage Natural and Honey Burst, they also come in 12-string versions, acoustic or electro-acoustic (EQ).

The Ranger VR is, in summary, a reliable, robust, and powerful western-format folk guitar accessible to all budgets. It is perfect for beginners wanting to enter the world of guitar, or for seasoned guitarists looking for a sturdy, effective guitar with a very elegant retro look.

I just received the beauty today, unboxing and wow!!! For €139 on sale, it's really a great deal. The build quality is very good and the guitar is heavy, it breathes quality. Out of the box, the guitar is well set up, I just lowered the strings a bit at the bridge thanks to the 2 adjustment screws (not necessarily needed but I like guitars with strings close to the neck) and it doesn't buzz because the neck is curved just right. The reason for this purchase is to test a fret 0 and I am not disappointed, it's super pleasant. The bridge adjustment with the screws is really great too, it avoids a lot of fiddling. Sound-wise, it's very crystalline but still with good bass and the guitar vibrates really well and I think it will improve. In terms of look, it's really superb, however the color of the top is a bit darker than the photos. I haven't tested the Fishman yet but I'm sure it will be good. Summary: for €139 an electroacoustic like this is unbeatable I think, if you're hesitating go for it!!! And +++ for the build quality, I recently bought an Epiphone Masterbuilt Signature Slash (which costs 6 times the price of this Eko) and 3 consecutive exchanges due to manufacturing defects. A little cherry on top, a jack is provided along with the adjustment keys for the truss rod and the bridge. And finally, bravo Woodbrass for the speed, ordered on a Thursday evening received Monday morning, efficient. Edit: I was able to test the Fishman, by the way to my great surprise the 9V battery was included. It does the job well, with a high output level, only 2 adjustment knobs, tone and volume that work well and allow subtle nuances, I will test it in concert soon, I think it will work.... (Show more)
