Builder's Edition guitars showcase Taylor's finest craftsmanship, comfortenhancing design elements, beautiful aesthetics, V-Class bracing and the rich, articulate tone of all-solid-wood construction. They continue to earn high praise from both casual and pro players for their unmatched playability and refined musical personalities. We're excited to introduce a trio of new Builder's Edition models featuring solid Urban Ash back and sides, responsibly sourced in Southern California. The tonewood yields a warm, woody sound with a strong focus on the fundamental note and controlled overtones. Tone-shaping V-Class bracing boosts volume, draws out the sustain and serves up spot-on intonation along the entire neck. Each new guitar comes with our Compass inlay scheme in Italian acrylic, premium Gotoh 510 antique chrome tuners with matching buttons, a firestripe pickguard, black/ivoroid purfling, ES2 electronics and a Taylor deluxe hardshell case. Like other guitars in our Builder's Edition Collection, the new additions feature a suite of hand-pleasing contouring details (a beveled armrest and cutaway, chamfered body edges and a Curve Wing bridge) that make them more comfortable to hold and easier to play. However, in a departure from the silent satin finish standard across the collection, each new model flaunts a lustrous gloss finish. Builder's Edition 514ce : Drawing inspiration from our 50th Anniversary Builder's Edition 314ce, this comfortable cutaway Grand Auditorium features solid Urban Ash back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top. While an artfully sprayed Kona burst color treatment has been applied to the back, sides and neck, players can choose between either a natural or Kona burst top.
