Taylor Builder's Edition K24ce acoustic guitar
The K24ce Builder's Edition is a high-end, all-koa electro-acoustic guitar in the famous Taylor Grand Auditorium body shape. Visually stunning with its Kona burst, spring vine inlay and beveled edges, this responsibly sourced tonewood is grown exclusively for Taylor on the Big Island of Hawaii. The unique climate has a profound impact on the structure of this powerful wood, which has a complex tonal range with a bright, lively character. A guitar that will age with you.
Over the years, the wood relaxes, opens up and offers a deeper resonance and bass. The tropical mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide stability and definition of attack. By adopting the revolution in guitar making that is the V-brace, we get a more orderly and natural sounding top, resulting in more volume, better sustain and better intonation of the notes throughout the fingerboard, all of which is better balanced across the entire range of sounds. Whether you're a strummer or a fingerpicker, the K24ce Builder's Edition will adapt to your playing style and grow with you. This K24ce is the flagship model in the highly anticipated Builder's Edition series, designed by master luthier Andy Powers. Andy calls this series "Director's Cut", where he aims for the highest level of comfort, tone and playability. No rule, no expense has been spared.
Note the armrest that relieves the musician's arm and the bevelled cutaway that facilitates access to the top fingerboard. Chamfered edges on the body and neck add a silky smooth feel for an optimal playing experience and the Silent Satin finish eliminates most of the noise that can occur during arm movement, making it the ideal guitar for recording and adding to the unique aesthetic of the K24ce Builder's Edition. The icing on the cake is that the headstock is equipped with a set of top quality Gotoh gold tuners with a 1:21 ratio for extremely accurate tuning. Why should you choose between look, sound or feel when you can have it all with the K24ce Builder's Edition?

Large Auditorium
When you think of a Taylor guitar, chances are you think of a Grand Auditorium. For over 20 years, this has been Taylor's classic body shape, with just the right blend of tonal balance, projection, note articulation, treble shimmer and incredible playability - it's a hallmark of the guitar industry and a benchmark for players of all ages, levels and musical orientations. With a width/depth comparable to a dreadnought, but with cleaner lines and a narrower waist that make it easily identifiable from across the room, this most versatile guitar shape offers equal playing conditions and, whether for chamber, touring or studio players, makes you want to keep playing.
Hawaiian Koa
Hawaiian koa is a fairly dense tropical hardwood with a strong midrange emphasis, similar to mahogany, but with an extra slice of brilliance and tone in the treble. The more you play a koa guitar, the more the bass range blossoms and develops - with strong mid-range harmonics adding a sense of warmth and sweetness to its voice and an overall harmonic sophistication and complexity.
Sitka Spruce
Sitka spruce is the most common wood used for guitar tops. Sitka generates a wide dynamic range and is suitable for many playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking. As a guitar top, Sitka spruce is the standard tonewood of the modern era. It is used on 85-90% of the guitars made by Taylor. Its combination of strength and elasticity results in a wide dynamic range, providing clean articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking.
Micro Expression System ES-2
If you need to amplify your sound, you'll love the revolutionary ES2 onboard pickup system. The 3 individual pickups behind the bridge combine with the professional-grade preamp to deliver unparalleled dynamics, perfect for live or studio use.
V-Bar
The bracing is the internal frame of an acoustic guitar that plays a key role in how the instrument shapes the sound. Although the X-brace has been standard on acoustic guitars for over a century, it creates an innate conflict between two key elements of a guitar's sound: volume and sustain. The guitar's top (its soundboard) contributes significantly to both elements.
The flexibility of the top generates volume (projection), while its rigidity generates sustain. With X-bar guitar tops, this is where the trade-off comes in: as one element is made stiffer, its flexibility is reduced (and vice versa). The V-Class bracing changes all that. With Taylor's V-Class Bracing, an acoustic guitar top can be both stiff and flexible, for more volume and sustain. The V-Class Bracing offers rigidity parallel to the strings for more rigidity and therefore sustain. Flexibility on either side generates the air movement needed for robust projection - so it's the best of both worlds.
This revolutionary innovation also improves intonation, producing not only louder and longer notes, but also more in tune with each other. The V-Class Bracing also increases volume evenly across the tonal spectrum, increases sustain and improves the natural intonation of the instrument by creating a more synergistic soundboard response. This promotes a more harmonious relationship between the notes you play, allowing chords to resonate in cohesive splendour. Get a Taylor with a V-Class bracing and experience it for yourself.
