With its innovative and elegant hardware and legendary shells made according to the Gretsch formula, Catalina Maple is the preferred series for drummers seeking a Gretsch drum kit with exceptional sound, offering ergonomic playing comfort and a contemporary, refreshing look.
The Catalina Maple hardware includes the round "gas cap" mounting plate for the bass drum and the improved GTS Tom Suspension System 2025, a low-profile, out-of-shell mounting system that provides significantly longer sustain and a more natural sound to the toms. The 2025 upgrade also includes the new Full Range Throw Off system and the new counterpart on all Catalina snare drums, ensuring improved and more reliable functionality. Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts are included on all fittings for a pleasant feel for the drummer, and the bass drum claws are pressure-molded and rubber-isolated to maintain the new look of the bass drum hoops.
The 7-ply maple shells made with the Gretsch formula have 30-degree bearing edges and a natural interior. The bass drums are equipped with telescoping bass drum spurs and matching maple hoops. The toms and snare drums come with 2.3 mm triple-flanged hoops. All shells are equipped with Remo® heads.
