Dynaudio BM5 MK3

Description

Essential Information About the Dynaudio Pro BM5 mkIII Monitoring Speaker

  • 7-inch nearfield monitor, extended dynamics and ultra-linear response
  • Handcrafted drivers with aluminum voice coils for excellent transient response
  • Class D amplification controlled by DSP for precise reproduction at all levels
  • Flexible operation with XLR and RCA inputs, made in Denmark

A Dynaudio Classic That Steps Up

Direct evolution of the very popular "BM5A MKII," the "BM5 mkIII" increases the maximum sound pressure level and broadens the frequency response while retaining the Dynaudio DNA. Its in-house transducers, combined with modern amplification, deliver precision often reserved for larger monitors, in an easy-to-place nearfield format.

Designed for Demanding Nearfield Mixing

The BM5 mkIII targets ambitious home studios, post-production suites, and professional studios seeking a reliable listening point. It excels in vocal placement, low-mid balance, and bass control, facilitating mixing and editing decisions in small to medium-sized rooms.

Features and Innovations for Reliable Monitoring

Handcrafted MSP Drivers

The 7-inch one-piece MSP polymer woofer and 28 mm soft dome tweeter provide great spectral coherence. Lightweight pure aluminum wire voice coils ensure exemplary responsiveness and low distortion, while the die-cast aluminum chassis stiffens the assembly.

Modern Amplification and Refined Filtering

Class D amplification, assisted by DSP, optimizes bass performance and stability at high levels. The 1.9 kHz crossover with a 12 dB/octave slope ensures a smooth transition between drivers and a generous sweet spot for daily mixing.

Studio Integration Without Constraints

With XLR and RCA inputs, the BM5 mkIII integrates equally well with a professional audio interface or a compact production setup. The bass-reflex enclosure usefully extends low-end support without sacrificing transient response accuracy.

Excellent item for composing, mixing, hearing true unembellished sounds, music as it really is after using various software. A bit expensive, but worth it. This does not mean that competitors' products are necessarily worse in this price range. But this one is really remarkable, in my opinion. Don't forget that the sound volume and all settings are made from the computer or equipment used, not on the speaker whose few buttons on the back are not designed for this purpose. At first try, the sound is almost at maximum if not adjusted beforehand, so very loud. It all depends on what has been done with the software.
