The successful second generation, the Focal Alpha 50 "Evo," retains the Alpha signature (neutrality, dynamics) while adding what modern studios needed: an additional TRS input, switchable automatic standby mode, mounting inserts, and revamped design. The Slatefiber driver, made in France, and the softened front baffle improve tonal coherence and dispersion without betraying the spirit of the original Alpha 50.

Slatefiber Drivers and Aluminum Tweeter

The 13 cm Slatefiber cone ensures lively impulse response and controlled bass, while the 25 mm inverted dome aluminum tweeter offers controlled dispersion, detailed highs, and non-fatiguing listening. Together, they guarantee tonal coherence across the entire volume range.

Bi-Amplification and Controlled Dynamics

Two dedicated Class D modules (30 W for the woofer, 20 W for the tweeter) provide instant current to control transients and reach up to 101 dB peak at 1 m without distortion, useful for validating mix energy.

Connectivity, Ergonomics, and Integration

Triple input XLR/TRS/RCA to interface with any audio interface or controller. The automatic standby mode is disableable to avoid unexpected cutoffs. The supplied protective grille secures the drivers, while mounting inserts facilitate wall or ceiling installation.

I bought these speakers from woodbrass to monitor my mixes. Guitars, synths, percussion, vocals, etc. etc.. Directly connected to the output of the Focusrite, the sound is clear, crisp, never harsh.. You can mix for a long time without fatigue, the bass is well present, and even deep which is quite impressive for 5-inch speakers.. I also use them as simple listening on the PC, again a very good surprise, very balanced even at low volume. Like all monitoring speakers, positioning is important of course.. I have not yet tested the adjustment possibilities at the back of the speakers.. The automatic standby is a real plus.. In summary, very satisfied with this purchase..

Focal Alpha EVO 50 audio monitors. Fast and on-time delivery.. perfect packaging.. Speaker testing for a week, great sound clarity, very defined mids and highs, well-present and deep bass. Listening without fatigue even after a few hours.. I re-listened to my mixes, synths, guitar, percussion, and electric bass. Perfect, I even heard sounds that I don't perceive on hi-fi speakers.. Positioning compared to the Alphas is very important as with all monitors of course.. Conclusion... Super!
