Adam Audio A7V

Description

Essential Information About the ADAM Audio A7V Monitoring Speaker

  • Direct evolution of the iconic A7X, featuring built-in DSP, "Voicings," and 4-band equalization for fine room adaptation.
  • Precise driver combo: 7" multilayer mineral fiber (MLM) woofer and rotatable X-ART tweeter with HPS waveguide for a stable stereo image.
  • Real-time remote control via Ethernet with the free "A Control" software and upgradable firmware.
  • Extended response 41-42000 Hz and 105 dB peak SPL (1 m) for demanding mixing, editing, and sound design.

From the A7X to the A7V: The Next Generation of the A Series

Succeeding the A7X, the A7V sits at the heart of ADAM Audio's A series, bringing integrated digital processing, enhanced calibration, and modern software integration. It retains the brand's signature with the handmade X-ART tweeter crafted in Berlin, while improving directivity and tonal coherence thanks to the HPS waveguide and next-generation MLM woofer.

Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?

Designed for nearfield monitoring, the A7V targets producers, mixers, content creators, and sound designers seeking reliable listening in small to medium-sized rooms. Its dynamic headroom, precise soundstage, and correction options make it an ally for quick decision-making, from pre-mix to mastering independent projects.

Technologies and DSP Controls Tailored to Your Room

The 24-bit/96 kHz DSP manages the 4-band equalizer ("Bass," "Desk," "Presence," "Treble") and predefined "Voicings" profiles to adapt the speaker to your acoustics or preferences. Via A Control and the Ethernet connection, you adjust these settings in real time, synchronize multiple speakers, and load filter presets.

The rotatable X-ART tweeter paired with the HPS waveguide optimizes horizontal and vertical dispersion, allowing vertical or horizontal orientation depending on your studio setup. The 7" MLM woofer delivers precise bass and fast transient response, supported by dedicated bi-amplification.

Thanks to firmware updates, the A7V remains future-proof, with the possibility to implement new filters and settings. Optional Sonarworks integration enables advanced calibration through measurement.

Use
Small but sturdy, I hesitated for a long time between several GENELEC / HEDD models... These ones are very good, I use them at close range and low volume. Of course, I have broken them in... tested at higher volume and nothing to say, they are great, excellent value for money. If you choose the option with a microphone / or if you buy it later, you can adjust the response of your monitors to your HS, it's a plus. Personally, I will complement them with a SUB, probably ADAM Sub 10 mk2 to have even more contrast, more relief.
