Dynaudio LYD-7 White

Description

Essential Information About the Dynaudio LYD-7 Studio Monitors

  • Accurate nearfield monitoring at low volume: clear bass, stable imaging, and long listening without fatigue.
  • Modern digital processing: Class D amplification and 24 bit/96 kHz signal management for detailed reproduction.
  • Room-adaptive settings: Bass Extension, Sound Balance, and Position Mode to optimize performance based on placement.
  • Made in Denmark: speakers handcrafted following the Dynaudio tradition.

From the BM legacy to the LYD series: a new generation of Dynaudio monitoring

The LYD series continues the heritage of the famous BM monitors, a historic studio reference, while fully modernizing this segment. With the LYD-7, Dynaudio Pro retains what made its reputation (bass control at low levels, precision, listening comfort) and adds current DSP and amplification technologies to gain definition, control, and coherence across the entire frequency range.

For whom and for what studio uses?

The Dynaudio LYD-7 is designed for mixing and editing in the nearfield, suitable for project studios as well as more compact control rooms. Its 7-inch format offers an excellent compromise: enough low-end foundation to judge fundamentals, while maintaining precise midrange listening (vocals, guitars, synths) and a detailed high end to confidently balance reverbs, attacks, and sibilance.

DSP, amplification, and transients: control serving musicality

Class D amplification and 24 bit/96 kHz signal processing

Each speaker features Class D bi-amplification and internal processing at 24 bit/96 kHz. The goal is clear: control dynamics, stabilize response, and improve precision, especially at moderate volumes where many monitors become less reliable.

Dynaudio drivers: soft dome tweeter and MSP cone

The LYD-7 combines a soft dome tweeter with an MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) cone woofer. The lighter aluminum voice coils promote a fast transient response: snare hits, percussion, slap, or plucks retain their impact and clarity.

Simple optimization based on placement

Thanks to the Position (Wall/Free), Sound Balance (Bright/Neutral/Dark), and Bass Extension selectors, you can quickly adjust the speaker to your environment: proximity to a wall, desk, small room resonances, or need for tighter bass.
