Description

The house of 56 rue Lepic is known worldwide for the quality of its beaks because Vandoren excels in their shaping but also in the manufacture of reeds. With this range, the famous French brand offers mouthpieces that fit perfectly to your game.

The reference for jazzmen.
Available for soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, the V16 ebonite is THE jazz reference. The V16 ebonite series comes in different openings and types of chambers that offer nice variations of projection and ease of emission. So this beak will allow you a flexibility of infinite interpretation. In addition, depending on whether you play in section or lead, rooms S + or M will guarantee you a suitable answer.

The beak, one of the pillars of your sound.
Made from natural rubber (rubber tree sap), linen and sulfur, ebonite is one of the main materials used in making a beak. Its sound characteristics are the result of a multitude of factors. The shape of the ceiling, the volume of the chamber and the borehole, its opening, everything counts, ... Associated with a certain type of reed or ligature, it will allow you to find your own sound signature!

Sold without ligature or cap.
An ebonite mouthpiece for Jazz, in line with the great American beaks of the 50s.
Easy to transmit, homogeneous and powerful, it has a great dynamic.

Whether open or closed, this beak retains a balance in the color and depth of sound.

I had a very old Otto Link Ebonite mouthpiece (over forty years old) that I recently dropped very unfortunately and has been unusable since. I tried to get a recent Otto Link 7* ebonite mouthpiece. Unfortunately, the current production is quite defective and very poorly finished, and the mouthpieces are practically unplayable. So I tried a Vandoren V16 mouthpiece, first in the 8* version (very satisfactory but a bit tiring for me), and I ordered a 7* which is quite excellent. I just ordered, still in Vandoren V16, a 6* for classical music which I also find quite excellent. So a big bravo.
