Lgre - Reeds

American Cut is the saxophone reed series developed by Lgre.

Lgre: innovative reeds
Lgre reeds are made from polypropylene.
Lgre has adopted a particular process, the molecules of the material align themselves in order to precisely adapt the rigidity and density, to be as close as possible to the traditional reed. Lgre does not add any fibreglass or other chemicals.
This material does not need to be pre-conditioned before playing, it does not absorb water, it is non-toxic and can be disinfected. The big plus is that it is extremely durable over time.

American cut: unique reeds
American Cut reeds respond instantly to the first note. They are distinguished by their unique profile as well as a shorter and wider upper part. Easy to play, these characteristics give the reed its personality: a clear, brilliant and colourful sound, from the low register to the altissimo.

American cut: for which player?
These reeds will delight jazz players from beginners to renowned masters. However, thanks to the extremely playable nature, the reeds will appeal to a wide range of artists, including those for whom the Signature reed did not match their tone.

Standard tenor reed strength 2.5 vandoren reed to american cut 2.25 which suits me perfectly. I prefer the american cut on the Tenor and the signature on the alto.

Not bad but nothing special. Limited lifespan as it cracked after 3 or 4 months of use at about 5 to 6 hours per week.
