The V16 is definitely the reed of the jazzmen in search of a thick and solid section of reed!

The V16 reed, released in 1993, was designed to meet the needs of jazzers from across the Atlantic. With its thick end and long table, the reed V16 deploys a brilliant sound and allows percussive attacks. Its calibration is a little stronger than the average, but once associated with a jazz beak, it will let out a rich and deep sound.

An artisanal and eco-responsible process.
From planting reeds to flow-pack packaging that protects reeds from moisture changes, Vandoren controls all stages of production of its famous reed tabs. Cut by hand, the canes are worn on the back of a man on the edge of a reed bed. They are then leafed, sun-dried, dried, sawn, arrowed, tabled, bevelled, ... No less than fifteen distinct production stages that produce a considerable volume of reed waste that is reused as a fertilizer for reed beds or as fuel for heating factory. Music at the service of ecology!
