The black EVANS Hydraulic heads are made with a thin layer of oil between two film plies for maximum durability. They are distinguished by their powerful and deep sound, as well as their minimal sustain typical of early 1970s rock. Hydraulic heads are famous for their tuning simplicity, making them ideal for drummers who are not used to tuning their heads or who have a somewhat temperamental drum kit. EVANS Level 360 technology has been incorporated to extend the contact surface to 360 degrees around the entire circumference of the shell. The improved collar design ensures uniform contact with the shell's bearing edge to allow easy mounting, an extended tonal palette, and optimal sound quality.
