Description

An inexpensive three-quarter-size, steel-strung acoustic ideal for very young students or for players of all ages as a fun, travel guitar.

Top: Spruce
Back & sides: Meranti
Neck: Nato
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Bridge: Rosewood
Body depth: 80-90mm (3.15?-3.54?)
Scale length: 540mm (21.26?)
Tuning machines: Open chrome
Finish: Natural
Standard accessory: Gig bag

A full-size instrument is too big for very young learners of the guitar, and the little JR1, modelled on the dreadnought lines of Yamaha's famous FG design, is the perfect answer. Its short, 540mm scale length is easy to play for even the smallest hands, while the compact body depth feels comfortable on the lap.

Despite its size, the JR1 has an authentic and enthusiastic acoustic sound, which has also made the instrument popular as a go-anywhere strumming companion. For this purpose it comes fitted with two strap buttons and is supplied complete with a gig bag.

Guitar bought to introduce the little one to the guitar. Mine were not suitable for him. This guitar has all the qualities of a big one, Yamaha quality guaranteed. Pleasantly surprised by the sound projection despite its small size. I think it will do the job for travel/moving. Of course, you have to find some flaws, let's say the set of strings provided does not satisfy my ears in terms of sound but that's really nitpicking, after all, since it's basically for the kid, it's more than enough.

Hello!!!! Delivery in just 24H, nothing to say it's GREAT. Super well packed, no problem at first glance. Sound-wise, you can't say it's the same sound quality as a Takamine G series or other large folk guitars, but for its small size, it sounds magnificently good. And this guitar is made for travel, to take everywhere with you.

This is the 2nd guitar I buy on WB, always as satisfied with the speed of delivery. This guitar is a good choice for beginner children with an easy grip, very good quality details, a clear and relatively powerful sound, impressive for its size. I therefore recommend this guitar!

Bought as a travel guitar, I am satisfied with it. The shape of the body, the presence of the pickguard, and the materials used suit me very well. The finish is good without being excellent (some marks on the fretboard and bridge but oh well). Good nut width (43mm) but the length of the frets is just right, especially in the treble, better to have thin fingers (adults). I preferred to change the strings and so I put on D'Addario EXP16 in 12-53, it's better. Nothing to report except for the finish of the bridge and especially the fretboard which seems fragile and sensitive to shocks or scratches, the wood used rosewood, is not great. The sound power is also good and the sound quality matches the whole. Good value for money in my opinion, 123€ seems correct, it is not worth more, good purchase I recommend.... (Show more)

Very satisfied. After testing other small guitars (tanglewood rt, fender ma1, cort mini), this yam convinced me. Pleasant aesthetics, sound as I like, decent finish, really happy :-)

Surprisingly well tuned, this small guitar completely surprised me. Beautiful sound as a bonus. However, it is not a 3/4 body but a 1/2.
