An update to one of the world's most prized small combos, the Blues Junior IV features a modified preamp circuit, a smoother-sounding spring reverb, and a new look that will appeal to all musicians. This 15 watt amp appreciated for its versatility and sonic warmth will save any guitarist called upon to play off the cuff on stage or in the studio.

Fender has worked well to improve the flaws. I had a BJ3 that I ended up selling because it was always complicated to get a balanced sound. With the BJ4, I notice a clear improvement in the action of the Level and Master, as well as in the responsiveness of the EQ. The installation of a Celestion A-Type speaker offers a balanced response of the highs, mids, and bass. The only downside in my opinion is the constant presence of the GT tubes which have a strong microphone effect and shrill highs. As with the Deluxe Reverb, the best alternative is to replace the tubes.
