Ace Amplification Colt Amp HeadThe Ace Amplification Colt amp head is the boutique, dual-channel alternative to the famous Plexi in Studio format. It offers the tonal palette of the '59 series with 4 inputs and the 800 series in a 20-Watt format, through a more modern French design, making it easy to handle. It is manufactured by Fx Amps using the highest-grade European components, ensuring exceptional sound and rock-solid reliability.
With its 2 channels, it faithfully interprets these two amplifier series. The Plexi channel delivers a typical pushed SLP drive that tightens up to become more incisive like an 800 on the Boost channel. Each channel has its own Volume and Gain controls on the front panel, allowing you to find the perfect balance without constantly adjusting the amp. Its 20 Watts provide enough power to play on reasonably sized stages without issue.
Thanks to its built-in attenuator, it can switch from 20 Watts down to 2 Watts, enabling you to play at home while retaining its tone, with rich lows and dynamic response. The EL34 tubes are easy to change or replace with 6L6 tubes (for a more American sound), all without needing recalibration thanks to its no-Bias system. Finally, its lunchbox-style format and weight make it easy to transport, and its optimized, robust design clearly makes it an amp built for hassle-free mobility.
