Henle Verlag HAYDN J. - CONCERTO FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA A MAJOR HOB. VIIA:3

Description

Just like Haydn's Violin Concerto in C major Hob. VIIa:1, his Concerto in A major Hob. VIIa:3 still breathes a certain Baroque spirit, full of liveliness, technical brilliance, and beautiful "Italian-style" turns. The performer cannot therefore expect the experimental jubilation of Haydn's later years here. The concerto was probably composed during the second half of the 1760s for the orchestra of Prince Esterházy's court, perhaps for the first violin Luigi Tomasini. The urtext edition is based on the complete edition of Haydn's works also published by G. Henle Verlag. It is supplemented with carefully crafted bowings and fingerings by Kurt Guntner as well as cadenzas realized by Franz Beyer.
