Omnisphere 3 marks a new chapter for
Spectrasonics’ flagship synthesizer, setting the standard once again for creative sound design. This major update expands its legendary sound library, introduces cutting-edge synthesis engines, next-generation effects, full MPE support, and extended hardware integration. Powerful, expressive, and inspiring,
Omnisphere 3 is the most comprehensive virtual instrument ever made for modern music production.
A monumental sound library
Omnisphere 3 includes
18 brand-new sound libraries featuring thousands of inspiring new sounds and textures. All legacy presets have been
remastered with the new synthesis engines and effects introduced in version 3. Thanks to advanced lossless compression, this massive sound collection still fits within the same
disk space as Omnisphere 2. Highlights include unique sampled sources such as lyre harp, cello sul tasto, harmonic piano, metallophones, and even a “blown ostrich egg.”
Adaptive controls and creative patch mutation
The new
Adaptive Global Controls provide instant access to key parameters like Tone, Ambience, Filter, Vibrato, and Unison — automatically tailored to each patch. The innovative
Patch Mutation feature lets you generate subtle variations or radical transformations of any sound, making sound design faster, deeper, and more inspiring than ever.
Next-generation synthesis engines
Omnisphere 3 introduces an advanced
Quadzone modulation system, 36 enhanced filters, a dual polyphonic pitch shifter, modeled analog saturation, and over
600 new morphing wavetables. Granular, Harmonia, and Unison can now be used simultaneously, offering unprecedented flexibility and sonic richness for modern producers and composers.
Extended hardware integration
Building on its acclaimed
Hardware Integration feature, Omnisphere 3 now supports nearly every major MIDI controller. With more than
300 hardware profiles from brands like Roland, Korg, Moog, Sequential, Arturia, Novation, Nord, and Behringer, it provides a hands-on, musical workflow that bridges the gap between hardware synths and virtual instruments.
Expressive MPE performance
Omnisphere 3 fully supports
MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE), allowing fluid, multidimensional control with compatible keyboards and controllers. Intelligent MIDI adaptation ensures smooth response curves for expressive, analog-style playing that responds naturally to touch, pressure, and movement.
Next-generation effects suite
The update adds
35 new high-end effects, including reverbs, delays, modulation tools, vintage compressors, and multi-band distortions. Unique processors like
Velvet Verb,
Refraction Delay,
Barberpole Phaser, and
Optical Leveling Amp bring new depth and warmth to your mixes. The new
Omnisphere FX Rack plug-in lets you use these effects independently within your DAW.
Redesigned browsing experience
The completely redesigned browser introduces a
hierarchical structure, intuitive subcategories, library images, and an enhanced search engine. A new “Hide” function removes unused sounds, while simplified tagging allows quick exploration by genre, mood, or instrument type. As always,
Omnisphere 3 is fully backward-compatible with previous versions.
