Capturing the raw essence of drum sound recorded in a cramped basement studio, with a minimalist setup that's both vintage and modern, this expansion for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3 features arguably the rawest, most unpolished, and tangible kits you've ever heard. Inspired by punk, hardcore, metal, indie, psychedelic rock, kraut, and all the peripheral influences of underground scenes from the early '90s to today, this eclectic collection of drums breaks new ground.
If you're looking for a powerful, decadent, furious, and energetic EZX that's unpretentious and nonchalant, this one's for you. The Underground EZX album was recorded by Refused drummer David Sandström and engineer/producer/mixer Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona at the renowned Studio Cobra, a small, low-ceilinged basement studio in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden. In this dungeon-like space, crammed with tape machines, old hits, and vintage instruments, Konie produced productions imbued with his signature analog vibe, notably for Refused and Tribulation. Equipped with their own drum kit, the studio's own, and those of bands and friends from the Stockholm scene, they ensured this EZX was equipped with four unique kits, each bringing its own unique sound and vibe to the project. Expect a wide range of worn, road-worn, and tried-and-true kits, all put to the test on the stages of major festivals, underground clubs, and a multitude of albums of all genres.
