The Worthy Successor to the Vocal Performer Series
The VE-22 continues the legacy of BOSS vocal processors favored by singers and solo performers. It modernizes the ergonomics and algorithms of the range with immediate navigation and more musical processing, designed for stage, studio, and content creation.
Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?
Ideal for singers, beatboxers, backing vocalists, and singer-songwriters, the VE-22 covers live performance to home studio, including rehearsals and livestreaming. Its compact form factor fits easily on a music stand or pedalboard, and its XLR outputs adapt to any mixer or audio interface.
Features and Control at a Glance
Create your sounds in seconds thanks to dedicated "Harmony," "Effect," and "Echo" controls, supported by a high-visibility color screen. Harmonies follow your pitch in real time, while autopitch ranges from subtle tuning to intentionally electronic effects. On the front panel, three large footswitches trigger effects, looper, or memory changes; a jack allows adding an expression pedal or two external switches.
Regarding connectivity, the XLR input provides phantom power for condenser microphones. The two XLR outputs switch between stereo, dual mono, or wet/dry modes depending on the context. The USB-C ensures bidirectional audio with computers or mobile devices, and the Aux input facilitates singing along with backing tracks.
Sound Character
The VE-22 combines natural pitch correction, coherent harmonies, and creative effects (lo-fi, distortion, radio, ring mod, modulation) to color the voice without freezing it. The compressor and equalizer shape a clear and dynamic vocal, while delays and reverbs add space and depth. The response is reactive to vocal dynamics, from subtle nuances to percussive lines.
