A Korg Workstation Focused on Expressiveness and Sonic Depth
The Korg NAUTILUS pushes the concept of a modern workstation by combining multi-engine synthesis power, extensive sample content, and integrated production tools. Its philosophy is clear: to provide access to a massive sonic palette while maintaining a smooth interface to quickly move from idea to finished track, both in the studio and on stage.
Who Is the Korg NAUTILUS For?
The NAUTILUS is suitable for advanced to expert keyboardists seeking an "all-in-one" instrument: pop, rock, electro, techno, ambient, funk, gospel, synthwave, film scoring, or sound design. It excels in live performance thanks to the Set List mode and immediate controls, and becomes a true home studio production hub with its sequencer, multitrack audio recording, and open sampling system.
Features and Innovations
At the heart of the NAUTILUS are nine dedicated sound engines, usable alone or combined in Programs/Combinations to create layers, splits, and evolving textures. The piano engine SGX-2 emphasizes expressiveness (multiple velocity layers, resonances), while EP-1 targets iconic electric pianos and CX-3 captures the character of tonewheel organs. For synthesis, MOD-7 (VPM/FM), MS-20EX and PolysixEX (analog modeling), as well as STR-1 (physical modeling) offer a wide sound design playground. The 6 RT buttons directly control filters, effects, gate, tempo, and other parameters, with a lock function to secure performance. The arpeggiator and drum track provide 4 scenes per sound for improvisation and enrichment. Sampling and resampling are streamlined, supporting common formats and SSD storage. Finally, the production section combines 16 MIDI tracks and 16 audio tracks, supported by 16 internal effects (12 insert, 2 master, 2 total) and an EQ per part for mixing directly on the machine.
