With the OD5, Austrian Audio presents an active dynamic microphone optimized for use on instruments.
Handcrafted in Vienna and subjected to the strictest quality assurance processes, the OD5 instrument microphone is once again equipped with a few special features, just as Austrian Audio demands.
Most notable is the "Swivel Joint" mechanism. To simplify the positioning of the microphone on the instrument, Austrian Audio engineers have developed a pivoting system for the microphone head which allows a 220° rotation of the pick-up field. The microphone can be very easily aligned precisely to the sound source or to personal preference, without having to awkwardly adjust or loosen the microphone stand.
The active dynamic circuit is a feature already known from the OD505 vocal microphone. It ensures that even long cables have no negative effect on the signal. Furthermore, the active dynamic design allows the integration of an appropriate high-pass filter.
As a very versatile instrument microphone, the OD5 will be ideal for many uses. It is ideal for use on batteries; a custom stand is available as an optional accessory. It is also superb on guitar amplifiers, as well as for wind instruments.
