The Adam Audio S3V is a three-way studio speaker optimized for vertical installation. It is primarily designed for semi-proximity applications, although it can also be used in more restricted listening environments.
Low frequencies, ranging from 32 to 250 Hz, are handled by the all-new 9 ″ Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) woofer, which incorporates the manufacturer's equally revolutionary Symmetrical Magnet Assembly (SMA) technology. It produces powerful and extremely precise bass even in the sub-bass. Midrange and treble are reproduced with equally clinical precision by the combination of the new 4 ″ DCH midrange driver developed by ADAM Audio and the reworked S-ART ribbon tweeter. With the all-new HPS waveguide, the latter reproduces high frequencies with a particularly wide sweet spot, but also a very detailed sound image and a feeling of natural depth.
The custom DSP that powers the S Series optimizes the speaker crossovers to generate linear responses on all models. It also offers an equalizer and settings to match the response to the room. The DSP also manages the limiter intended to protect the tweeter, it also processes the signals coming from the AES3 digital inputs and it will eventually offer various expansion options. Software updates are possible via the USB port, which also allows you to connect a computer and control the speaker DSP functions via dedicated software.
The amplification integrated into the S3V is generous, it consists of models in class D for the woofer and the midrange speaker (500 W and 300 W respectively), and of a 50 W amplifier in Class A / B for the S-ART tweeter.
