Due to its small size, BigAmp Piezo can be connected as close to the transducer as possible, keeping the cable capacitance to a minimum.
For Piezo pickups A piezo transducer typically has an impedance of several megaohms, which is much higher than the high Z input of instrument preamps or mixing consoles. This prevents the transducer from providing its potential output signal to the preamp and limits the transient response. In addition, the high impedance combined with the capacitance of the cable to the preamp forms a low pass filter, which makes a piezoelectric transducer often uninteresting. BigAmp Piezo is specially designed to overcome the above issues. It has an input impedance of 7.5 megaohms, which allows the piezo transducer to deliver its full potential. The signal amplification is low (3dB) to allow the greatest possible margin.
