Initially designed for classical and acoustic instruments, the SF-2 combines its exclusive active electronics with exceptional audio quality. The SF-2's output level of -38 dB places it on par with that of condenser microphones, allowing it to be used with a wide range of mic preamps. The SF-2 boasts extremely quiet operation, with self-noise below 18 dB, thanks to its unique electronics and custom-designed FET. The SF-2's transducer structure gives it a wide, even frequency response and its 1.8 micron ribbon produces superb transient response. Frequency response is excellent regardless of angle of incidence and off-axis coloration is negligible.
