Descripción

Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Double Neck VOS '69 Cherry

Serial Number: CS404104
Weight: 5620g
Reissue of the EDS-1275 used by Jimmy Page, created from 3D scans of the original guitar. It features a solid one-piece mahogany body, 6- and 12-string mahogany necks with custom Jimmy Page profiles, Indian rosewood fingerboards, Jimmy Page Custombucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets and double black bobbins, and a Gibson Custom hard case.

Built to the exact specifications of Jimmy Page’s iconic 1969 EDS-1275 Doubleneck

Few guitars are as instantly recognizable and iconic as Jimmy Page’s 1969 EDS-1275 Doubleneck. The images of him performing live with Led Zeppelin are etched in rock ‘n’ roll history. While Gibson had produced doubleneck guitars since 1958, it was Jimmy Page who gave the EDS-1275 its legendary status from the moment it was delivered. The Gibson EDS-1275 allowed him to perform the intricate acoustic and electric 6- and 12-string parts of “Stairway to Heaven” live.
He also used the EDS-1275 for “The Song Remains the Same,” “The Rain Song,” “Celebration Day,” “Tangerine,” and most recently at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2023. Built in close collaboration with Jimmy Page, the Gibson Custom Jimmy Page EDS-1275 was handcrafted using cutting-edge 3D scanning to recreate an exact clone of his original EDS-1275 as it was before decades of use, scratches, and wear from extensive touring. Finished in VOS nitrocellulose lacquer, it has a gently aged patina without the detailed relic work of the Murphy Lab Collector's Edition model.
This Jimmy Page EDS-1275 features a double-cut, one-piece mahogany body offering exceptional access to both mahogany necks. Both necks are long tenon set with hot hide glue, and their profiles were replicated from 3D scans of Jimmy’s original guitar. Each has an Indian rosewood fingerboard with 20 authentic medium jumbo frets and aged cellulose nitrate parallelogram inlays. Both necks have a 12" radius, ideal for chord work and expressive bends. All 18 tuners are vintage-style Kluson® double-line, double-ring units, matching the original guitar, with accurate 17-degree headstock angles and the specific EDS-1275 logo.
Electronics are equally period-correct and deliver the iconic tone of Jimmy’s legendary EDS-1275. Two open-coil Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Custombuckers with Alnico 5 magnets are used on the 6-string, while two covered versions are found on the 12-string. Controls include two volume and two tone knobs wired with CTS® pots and period-correct ceramic disc capacitors. The pickup selector, neck selector, and output jack are all from Switchcraft®.
This is your chance to own a faithful clone of Jimmy Page’s iconic 1969 EDS-1275, exactly as it was the day he first received it. A Gibson Custom hard case is included, along with a vintage-style leather strap and a certificate of authenticity featuring a photo by renowned photographer Barrie Wentzell.
