Seymour Duncan was sought after by guitarists early on to bring more power and bite to their vintage guitars. Among the most requested pickups in the Custom Shop over the past three decades is the BG1400. This bridge pickup was designed for Telecaster enthusiasts who want a thicker sound without buzz, while retaining the characteristic twang. The BG1400 is made with a pair of overwound coils and Alnico V magnets. Overwinding brings the desired sonic mass and layering the coils eliminates single coil buzz. This microphone therefore produces a slightly more compressed signal than a classic model, but perfectly balanced with a nice attack thanks to the Alnico V and an equal presence on each string. Its design with 4 conductors offers the possibility of wiring with a switch to select only one coil out of the two. Handcrafted in the Seymour Duncan workshop in Santa Barbara, CA, the BG1400 for Telecaster goes from Custom Shop to standard catalog, reducing production costs and time.
