Michel Supéra, Camille Supéra and Cyril Huvé Notice
Snow, Moon and Flowers is a work for cello, saxophone and piano inspired by the One Hundred Views of Edo by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858). Characteristic of the ukiyo-e artistic movement, these prints, carved in wood and then reproduced on paper, were published in the middle of the 19th century. If they celebrate the beauty of nature, they also capture these contemplative and dreamy moments of everyday life; those intimate moments where you can marvel at the immensity of a starry sky, savor the freshness of the shade of a cherry tree, listen to the creaking of our footsteps on the snow, or stroll along the edge of a river and enjoy birdsong. At a time when agitation sometimes takes precedence over our daily lives, it is these serene and contemplative images, and the poetic lyricism of these Japanese landscapes that attracted and inspired me for this work. The play is structured in ten episodes, each one representing one of those rare and precious moments. Snow, Moon and Flowers is dedicated to the sponsors and creators: Michel Supéra, Camille Supéra and Cyril Huvé.
