An expressive and innovative hybrid synthesizer The Sonicware Liven Evoke is a compact 4-track synthesizer featuring a brand-new sound engine: the Acoustronic Flux Oscillator, enhanced with Backtide modulation. This hybrid engine combines the richness of acoustic instruments with the flexibility of digital synthesis, resulting in a truly expressive sound experience. It includes 34 carefully sampled instruments, from acoustic pianos to ethnic sounds, strings, winds, and percussive tones. A broad sonic palette In addition to the instruments, the Liven Evoke offers 20 waveforms and 2 types of noise, ideal for designing synthetic textures. It supports polyphonic, monophonic, and legato modes (with adjustable glide), as well as a variety of arpeggiator types (Up, Down, Random, Up+1oct, etc.), enabling dynamic and varied performances. Powerful 4-track architecture Each track features its own amplitude envelope, filters (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass), and two assignable LFOs for flexible modulation. The envelope offers simple attack and release settings, while the LFOs can be freely adjusted in shape, trigger mode, and destination.
Granular effects and reverb
The Liven Evoke includes a granular effect engine called "Grain FX", allowing control over up to 12 grains with detailed adjustments for size, timing, and level. Users can also shape grain direction, feedback, pitch, diffusion, and filter settings. Grain FX can also be applied to external audio sources via the line input. A high-quality reverb section complements it, offering 10 algorithms ranging from Small to Mirage for immersive spatial design.
Creative and complete sequencer
The 4-track sequencer lets you build up to 128 patterns of up to 64 steps each. It supports real-time recording, step input while playing, long notes, transpositions, and pattern chaining. Advanced functions include Parameter Lock, per-track level and pan, step playback probability, and random playback modes—ideal for evolving sequences.
MIDI and audio connectivity
The Liven Evoke is compatible with most setups, thanks to its MIDI IN/OUT (5-pin DIN), 3.5mm SYNC IN/OUT ports, and support for MIDI clock, note, and control data. It can also act as an external effects processor via the stereo line input and is compatible with Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators.
Intuitive interface and portability
The unit includes a 27-key keyboard with hold function, 15 dedicated knobs with latch to prevent value jumps, one encoder for fine-tuning, and an LCD screen for clear visual feedback. Compact and lightweight (297 x 176 x 48 mm, 790 g), it can be powered via a 9V adapter (not included) or 6 AA batteries, offering 6 to 10 hours of operation depending on battery type.
