OVER 1900 TONES AND 800 STYLES
With over 1900 high-quality tones and 800 Styles with One Touch Settings covering a wide range of musical genres, you'll be instantly inspired to play your favourite songs or even create new musical compositions. Over 200 styles are completely new, and all existing styles have been fully updated to use the new tones and effects, including FM sound generation and the ability to use ‘Ambient Drums’ kits and the Style Dynamic Control function. The result is professional-quality production. One of the most important sounds for any keyboard player is the piano. So we've not only added new piano sounds, but we've also reworked the existing piano sounds to achieve significantly higher quality. The CFX, Yamaha's flagship grand piano, now has more dynamic layers, 88-key sampling and double-length samples compared to its predecessor. In addition, we can choose the Character Grand sound, which is a renowned German piano sound from the 1980s, giving a more dynamic but rounder sound, perfect for pop and jazz music. The “U1 Upright”, Yamaha's high-end upright piano, has been tuned to give a contemporary feel to modern pop songs. If you're looking for a more cinematic sound, try the rich and melancholic “Felt Piano” sample. The SA2 sounds remain at the forefront of technology in terms of playability and realism, offering articulation and legato performance unmatched by any keyboard instrument. The choice is even wider in the Genos2, covering not only the entire orchestral palette but also more ethnic flavours such as instrumental samples from the Duduk, Shakuhachi and Celtic Flute, perfect for film music.
LEGENDARY FM SYNTHESIS
For the first time in a high-end arranger keyboard, the Genos2 features a dual-engine sound generator with not only AWM technology, but also FM synthesis. FM offers a rich, dynamic sound like Yamaha's legendary DX7, an instrument that defined the sound of the 1980s. Iconic DX7 presets and a range of new modern sounds derived from FM synthesis are used in Styles and One Touch Settings that are available at the touch of a button, bringing a warm, fresh sound to the Genos2.
AMBIENT DRUMS KITS
With the new Ambient Drums kits and using a single Live Control button, you can choose between a direct, dry and punchy percussion sound and a more distant, reflective and ambient sound, offering endless possibilities for reproducing your Style. The drums themselves are the backbone of any rhythm section, so this level of control over the drum sound is essential and will really enhance your musical playing experience.
REVERB EFFECT – REVELATION
Reverb is often overlooked, but we experience it every day. In arranger keyboards, reverb is used on voices, styles, MIDI songs, multi-pads and microphone input. That's why the introduction of Steinberg's REVelation reverb effect has such an impact on the sound of Genos2. REVelation has extremely high resolution, resulting in a transparent and natural sound, making it the ideal partner for an arranger keyboard where reverb needs to work across a wide range of tones, Styles and even vocals.
DYNAMIC CONTROL STYLE FUNCTION
For the first time in an arranger keyboard, the energy and dynamics of all styles, including user-added styles, can be adjusted with a single Live Controller knob. Whether you want your band to play at a soft pianissimo, a more powerful fortissimo, or anything in between, the choice is now yours.
RAISE YOUR MUSICAL LEVEL
LARGE, CLEAR AND BRIGHT At the heart of the Genos is the large 9-inch touchscreen, which is now brighter, has an anti-glare coating and is tilted an additional 5 degrees towards the player. In addition, the additional screen now offers different light or dark modes to choose from depending on your preferences. So whether you're performing indoors, outdoors or under stage lighting, the Genos2 screens will always be perfectly legible.
CONTROLLERS, NOW WITH LEDs
The knobs and sliders are an ingenious way to control many aspects of your performance. The Genos2's optimised “Live control” buttons now feature LEDs that show the position of the controls at a glance. They also include a “catch” function, reducing the risk of accidental operation during a performance.
PLAYLIST
The Playlist is the best way to organise your registration banks into handy lists for instant selection during the show. With the new user interface, Playlist entries can be sorted from A to Z or from Z to A. You can browse the Playlist entries alphabetically and filter them using specific terms. If you import MusicFinder recordings from an older instrument, the style name will automatically be included in the name of the new recording in the Playlist.
STIMULATE YOUR MUSICAL EXPRESSION
CHORD LOOPER FUNCTION
The new buttons on the control panel provide quick access to real-time chord sequence recording and playback. Whether you want to free up your left hand to play piano, piece together parts of a song, or practise a difficult piece of music, the Chord Looper feature lets you store up to 8 chord sequences in each bank for easy access during your performance. You can create an unlimited number of banks with your own chord progressions or choose from a range of built-in presets.
VOCAL HARMONY FEATURE
You can easily apply various presets from the Vocal Harmony feature to your voice, which can enhance your singing experience and vocal quality by adding multiple harmony parts and effects. Whether you want to sing a standard duet, a jazzy quartet or a large choir, the choice is yours. In addition, you can get creative with the “Synth Vocoder” function, which allows you to manipulate synthesised sounds simply by singing into the microphone. The microphone picks up the unique characteristics of your voice, such as vowel formation, and transmits this information to the vocoder to shape the synthesised voices. The Vocal Harmony feature offers performers a wide range of vocal expressions and possibilities that they can enjoy at home or on stage.
BLUETOOTH® AUDIO
With your Bluetooth®-enabled device (smartphone or tablet) connected wirelessly to Genos2, you can listen to your favourite songs or even record everything you hear with the built-in audio recorder.
DEDICATED LYRICS DISPLAY
Connect your Genos2 to an external display or TV using the new HDMI port. The HDMI port added to the Genos2 is perfect if you're entertaining guests or hosting a party, as you can instantly display the lyrics of your MIDI and audio songs for everyone to see and sing along to. In addition, you can also display the main screen or display a music score, which can be very useful if you're playing as a duo or in a group.

MIDI TRACKS TO STYLE
The magic begins by dragging and dropping your MIDI file into the application. In easy mode, the conversion to style is automatic. Simply save the result and play the style on your arranger keyboard. In Edit mode, you can customise the creation of your style. For example, choose which tracks from the MIDI file to use in your style. Specify which parts of the MIDI file should be used to create each section of the style, or even change the sounds and remix the tracks to create the perfect style.
USB AUDIO INTERFACE
The new USB audio interface allows you to record studio-quality audio data using the Rec'n'Share app or any DAW software with a simple USB cable. Ideal for sharing your performance with friends or for high-quality music production. If you want to record a video of your performance and share it on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok, Rec'n'Share is the solution. Connect the Genos2 to your smartphone or tablet and record video and audio simultaneously to complete your video.
EXPAND YOUR MUSICAL POSSIBILITIES WITH PACKS
The Genos2 includes expansion memory, which means that new sounds and styles can be added in the future.By registering your Genos2 on our website, you can download the “DX7 Voice Pack”, which adds to the pre-set sounds, completing the collection of 128 original sounds from the famous DX7. In addition to exclusive expansion packs for the Genos2, there is already a growing library of free expansion packs of sounds and styles to choose from. The packs provide everything from new sounds and styles to “One Touch Settings” and MultiPads, allowing you to customise the content of your Genos2.
