In this unique and poetic collection, intended for double bass players in cycles 2 and 3, each text serves as the framework for work appropriate to a classical technique of the instrument, but also for an exploration of different playing modes that characterize a particular aesthetic of modern writing.
The musical texts come from the double bass repertoire (Schubert, Bottesini, Ravel?) or are transcribed for the occasion (Bach, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Nougaro?).
An improvised part allows the performer to freely engage with their own intentions. This musical storytelling project constitutes a starting idea that anyone can, if they wish, modify the proposed musical path.
The illustrations accompanying each of the fourteen pieces are available in digital format and can, for example, be projected as part of a stage production.
