Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T
Originally launched in 2015, the Revstar series was Yamaha’s first new line of electric guitars in over a decade. It draws on the brand’s deep expertise in guitar craftsmanship and design, as well as the engineering and aesthetic legacy of Yamaha Motor Co.'s motorcycles.
All models feature chambered bodies developed using Yamaha’s exclusive Acoustic Design process. By leveraging advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha sculpted the chambered design to acoustically shape the tone, enhance resonance, reduce weight, and improve balance. The new Revstar models also introduce innovative switching options for greater versatility.
Revstar Standard models, available with humbuckers or P90-style single-coil pickups, feature the Focus Switch—a passive boost function that emulates the sound of overwound pickups—and a unique 5-way switching circuit that offers a fresh take on classic "in-between" tones. The new lineup also includes a redesigned neck profile and a range of racing-inspired finishes.
Premium components and carefully selected materials, combined with Japanese engineering precision and craftsmanship, reflect the Café Racer spirit: functionality, character, and style in abundance.
The new Revstar RSS02T is available in three new finishes: Vintage White, Sonic Blue, and Fired Red. It features a racing-style aluminum tailpiece, carbon-reinforced neck, and a chambered body—an innovative concept developed through Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process to sculpt tone, reduce weight, and ensure optimal balance without sacrificing sustain or resonance. The two VP5 P90 single-coil pickups, paired with a 5-way selector and passive push/pull Focus Switch, deliver uncommon versatility for a dual-pickup guitar. Comes with a deluxe gigbag.
