Magnétique is a "spatial" study for B-flat clarinet that helps project the sound. The computer program accompanying the performer provides musical feedback very sensitive to the musician's tone. In this piece, the clarinet sound transforms into floating textures or frantic pulses: there is a very close contact between the performer and the electronics, who share the stage!
