Whether from the Altiplano (Huayno from Peru, Takirari from Bolivia), the Pacific or Atlantic coasts (Cumbia from Colombia, Milonga from Argentina), or the Caribbean islands (Bolero from Cuba, Reggae from Jamaica), these musics with swaying rhythms offer several educational benefits for both the student and the teacher. First of all, this music of oral tradition invites musicians (teacher and student) to make it their own through memorization by listening to the CD (active listening, singing the melody...). The arrangement can then be worked on by playing, with or without sheet music, along with the playback track.
