The WA76 compressor/limiter is a modern version of the D revision of the famous 1176. Warm Audio has done everything to remain faithful to the original circuits, including the transformers: the originals were manufactured by Reichenbach Engineering which has now become CineMag. The 1176 is a milestone in the history of limiter circuits: it is the first true transistor peak limiter offering high-level performance and having a true sonic signature. It became a model for all limiters subsequently manufactured. Its extremely fast attack time and sonic character have won over many artists and studios – Peter Frampton, Joe Satriani, Joe Chiccarelli, Vance Powell and Mike Elizondo are just a few of the countless fans acquired over half a century.
