Description

OC70 Occitania Classical 4/4

A beginner classical guitar featuring a solid wood top, which is a rarity. Yet, this characteristic proves essential to the sound quality. This full-size 4/4 classical guitar is ideal for starting out with a quality instrument.

A choice always difficult for the novice.

The range of entry-level guitars is so vast that it becomes challenging for beginners to make an objective choice. Should they opt for an unknown brand or a reputable label? And, with equal features, why choose this one over that one? What criteria should be considered when deciding? Does aesthetics matter? In a nutshell: how can one be sure not to make a mistake?

Wanting to want.

With the Lâg models from the T70 series, we are dealing with a wide choice between different body shapes (dreadnought or auditorium), finishes (sunburst or natural), and the electro-acoustic option. These guitars are intended for beginners who, by principle, will struggle to push them to their limits due to a lack of instrumental technique. They will then have to rely on subjective elements, such as the comfort of the grip or the aesthetics that will motivate them to practice more often and thus progress faster. In this regard, they will be perfectly served!

Chic and above all striking.

And this is indeed the case with these T70s featuring satin finish, an original rosette, black graphite nuts, and matte black tuning machines (oil-bath, no less). That’s the aesthetics. But two criteria remain important. First, ease of play: while an experienced guitarist knows how to adapt their playing to the instrument or even finely adjust it, a beginner may struggle. The guitar is a very physical instrument, and it is important that the left-hand playing is smooth. This is the case with these T70s, whose neck is slim and comfortable, with perfectly set action (space between the strings and the neck) that will spare the novice musician from the woes of initial finger pain.

Balanced sound with beautiful projection.

Finally, the guitar’s tone matters, and in this case, the T70s deliver a balanced sound between bass and treble, obviously due to the solid Engelmann spruce soundboard. Of course, dreadnought guitars project a higher volume than auditoriums, which are more subtle and better suited to fingerstyle playing, not to mention their smaller size which is particularly suitable for smaller builds. In any case, if you opt for an electro-acoustic version with its DirectLâg GT2 preamp, you will access all the tonal qualities of these guitars at any volume, without risking unwanted feedback thanks to its many fine-tuning options. Ultimately, guitars that impress with their refined appearance and offer excellent value for money. And if you consider the competition, you will find hardly any challengers.
