With the 2024 update, the RockBass range continues a simple idea: offering basses that capture Warwick's aesthetic and musical approach in a more accessible format. It features craftsmanship designed for stage and studio, as well as effective active electronics, while maintaining the visual identity and playing signature that have built the reputation of the German brand.
This 4-string RockBass is aimed at serious beginners as well as intermediate players seeking a versatile and stable bass with real adjustment range thanks to active EQ. It is particularly suited for styles where attack and precision matter: rock, pop, funk, groove, and even metal when a clear and articulated low end is desired.
The alder body provides a natural balance of round lows, present mids, and clear highs, ideal for cutting through a mix without effort. The bolt-on neck promotes a sharp attack and quick response, while the wenge fingerboard enhances definition and "grain" in the upper mids. The two MEC "Dynamic Correction" J active pickups deliver a precise sound with great dynamics and solid output level. The RockBass active preamp (Bass/Treble) allows switching from a snappy slap tone to a denser, deeper sound with just a few adjustments, while maintaining note-to-note clarity.
To maintain exactly the same feel and tension, a set of Warwick Red Strings .045-.105 identical to the original is a safe choice. A standard strap is also suitable (the bass is equipped with Warwick Security Locks), and a clip-on tuner ideally completes a rehearsal or stage setup.
