Thanks to its active electronics and "humbucker"-style pickups, it is comfortable in rock, funk, pop, R&B, and metal, with a low-end reserve ideal for modern tunings and low lines.
The ash body provides a lively response, firm lows, and good projection, while the wenge fingerboard enhances attack precision and clarity, especially useful on a 5-string. The MEC passive pickups in Music Man style deliver a punchy, dense, and articulated sound, with a present midrange that "cuts" through the mix. The RockBass active electronics, controlled by Volume / Balance / Treble / Bass, allow quick switching from a round and deep tone to a snapping slap, or a more aggressive grain for pick riffs, while keeping the B string tight and playable on the long scale.
