Produced in only 300 units, this anniversary edition pays homage to the instrument Eric Clapton used during his mythical MTV Unplugged performance, precisely capturing the soul of a pre-war Martin.
Crafted with exceptional woods, the 000-42EC combines an aged finish solid Adirondack spruce top with solid Guatemalan rosewood back and sides. This subtle combination offers a warm and rich sound depth, ideal for delicate fingerstyle as well as more sustained pick playing.
The scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing, inspired by the Golden Era, amplifies resonance and projection, providing a full and generous sound that fills the space with an inimitable sonic personality.
The solid mahogany neck, carved in the Authentic 1939 profile, offers a natural grip thanks to a slightly reduced nut width. The ebony fingerboard, adorned with 42 Golden Era snowflake inlays, combines vintage elegance and playing comfort. In addition to its specifications inspired by vintage models and its brilliant pearl inlays, each guitar in this limited series is accompanied by a label hand-signed by Eric Clapton himself, as well as a printed certificate of authenticity, testifying to this iconic collaboration. It comes strung with Clapton’s Choice strings – the master’s preferred sound and feel – with an extra set stored in the case.
