These strings have a fairly long lifespan. I changed the same set of strings after more than a year of regular use: the appearance of the strings was still good (no wear). Of course, I gained in brightness, definition, and power. I don't know the manufacturing process but my new strings stabilized in a few hours. For comparison, it takes a few days of break-in for new nylon strings to be playable on my classical guitar (Savarez). The gauge is slightly too strong but that's a matter of personal taste.

I, who am not a big fan of Elixir strings, must admit that I am very satisfied. The sound is well balanced with good sustain, beautiful harmonics, and great projection. In short, quality, not to mention the very long lifespan of these strings. The medium/light gauge is a bit hard to play, but when it comes to the bass, there's no comparison. Very good strings!!!
