What does the advanced DSP module do
Mackie's filtering technology is not the typical treatment of a speaker. The goal of our Advanced Impulse ™ DSP is to eliminate any anomalies that speakers and horns produce to a signal, thus making the speakers "invisible" and producing nothing but clean sound. . By smarter (and more fully) utilizing the benefits of FIR filtering, the Advanced Impulse DSP eliminates unwanted acoustic anomalies over the entire dispersion area (horizontal and vertical), as well as the frequency range and time domain.

The main way to do this is to measure the negative frequency response and time domain impacts that each transducer and horn in the system introduces - on-axis as well as off-axis - and reverse / correct these anomalies before the signal does not reach the speaker. The result is that the speaker output is fully corrected to achieve flat, clear, time-aligned, and consistent sound across all domains of time, space, and response.

SYM-X ™ Pavilion
The custom horn of each SRT Series loudspeaker has been designed with the goal of bringing out the best in the RF transducer while maintaining the flattest response possible at the crossover point. Surprise, surprise ... we found it. The special design of this horn allows the compression motor to run at near maximum efficiency. This means it gets louder and sounds better with less effort. The transition between low frequencies and high frequencies is a balanced and flat response, resulting in incredibly smooth mids in the SRT series speakers.

Innovative limiter system
Other speakers have some sort of protection and limitation to help them get an extra dB or two out of the speaker. This almost always comes at the expense of sound quality and usually results in decreased bass response and the internal limiter “pumping” sound having a bad day.

When operating at very high levels (watch out for the ears), the processor-controlled control system analyzes the audio signal and identifies problem areas, then dynamically applies multiband compression to those specific frequencies rather than lowering the overall output. . This helps keep levels where you want them and keeps the sound quality you expect.

With the SRT Connect ™ app available for iOS and Android® devices, you have full control of everything, and up to two speakers simultaneously. Quickly access volume levels, equalizer, meters and other setups. Plus, you can save memory presets to streamline setup at your next gig.

When you connect to another SRT series speaker, you have control of the entire system in the app, all in one view. There is no need for additional pairings or exchanges on your device.
