The RPL model is the first one of our Fiberreed Artist Series and was developed in collaboration with Portuguese music professor Rodrigo Pires de Lima with use in classical music in mind.
The reed is optimized to Rodrigo’s specifications over many hours of detailed adjustments at the factory, fine tuning the cuts by trial and error. Rodrigo opted to work with the layered Carbon Hollow Fiber material using a traditional curved cut for the heart of the reed. A pronounced heart gives it good resistance, a pure tone and precise articulation.
The Artist Series is something very special to us here at Fiberreed. More than 30 years of experience, passion, and innovation go into our Artist Series. As Rodrigo likes to say, the RPL was made with a lot of “love & care”!
Originally designed for classical musicians, the RPL works wonderfully in ombination with classical mouthpieces. However, it is also a real treat for all jazz musicians. The RPL will be available for tenor and alto.
