The MX225 was designed to meet a very concrete need in installation sound reinforcement: distributing multiple audio programs across different spaces while maintaining control over the volume of each zone. Its approach is deliberately straightforward: 2 input sources, 5 output zones, and an ergonomics focused on daily operation. This type of equipment naturally finds its place in a technical rack, at the heart of a multiroom distribution system where stability and clarity are paramount.
The MX225 is ideal if you manage a venue with multiple areas to be sound-equipped and want to adjust the sound level zone by zone without changing the overall upstream setting. It is perfectly suited for multi-room complexes, bars and restaurants (main room, terrace, private lounge), sports clubs (gym floor, locker rooms, reception), hotels (lobby, corridors, breakfast room), as well as places of worship and municipal spaces.
It integrates downstream of a mixer, a powered mixer, or upstream of powered speakers to create a clear distribution: the same source can feed multiple zones, and each zone can select between available sources according to your venue's layout.
The core of the MX225 is its ability to route sources 1 and 2 to each of the 5 zones while maintaining individual level control per zone. You can thus broadcast a general musical ambiance in some areas while switching another source in a dedicated zone (microphone announcement from a mixer, different playlist, TV content, etc.). Each zone can receive up to 2 sources, giving you flexibility without complicating your wiring.
The inputs for sources 1 and 2 are available in L/R balanced XLR, as are the zone outputs in L/R balanced XLR. This choice of connectors promotes a clean, robust installation suitable for long cable runs, an essential point when working in multiroom setups or rack systems with multiple devices.
Depending on the venue's configuration, some zones require mono distribution (corridors, restrooms, narrow spaces, ceiling diffusion) while others fully benefit from a stereo image (main room, lounge). The MX225 includes a Mono / Stereo source switch per zone to adjust distribution without having to rethink the entire audio chain.
Thanks to its 1U / 19-inch rack format, the MX225 easily integrates into a technical rack alongside a mixer, amplifiers, or processors. This is a real advantage for maintenance, cable tracing, and overall system coherence designed to operate several hours per day. Its compact size allows for a well-ventilated installation while centralizing zone distribution control.
