I bought these after much reading of pro and other users. They are very comfortable and the build is good German engineering as expected. They are precise, detailed, neutral, musical phones with a very flat frequency response which I need for mixing and mastering. I'll also enjoy using them when recording direct where the semi open design will not be a problem. I know from reading that a run in period is to be expected, for my ears and perhaps the phones themselves so they can only get even better. It's great to hear the detail in my music now as I don't have a decent pair of studio monitors any more. I previously used Yamaha NS and I reckon these Beyer DT 880 PRO phones will be as safe for a mix-down as well as mastering. They are also great value!
