Essential Information About the iRig USB Guitar Audio Interface

  • Ultra-compact and portable: pocket-sized (72 x 39 x 21 mm, 50 g) for practicing, playing, and recording anywhere.

  • USB-C Connection: simple plug-in to your computer, designed for both desktop and mobile use.

  • Efficient gain chain: ultra-low noise preamp, large gain knob, and clipping indicator for quick input level adjustment.

  • Ready for headphones and real amps: 3.5mm mini-jack headphone output and dedicated amp output with effect bypass capability.

A New Step in the iRig Lineup, from Best-Seller to USB-C

iRig USB continues the legacy of the iRig interfaces favored by guitarists and bassists seeking a simple, fast, and inspiring setup. This version features a new enclosure with a more modern design and USB-C connectivity, while maintaining the series' DNA: capturing an idea in seconds with minimal gear and maximum playing enjoyment.

Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses? An Interface Designed to Play More Often

Designed for guitarists and bassists (active or passive instruments), iRig USB is ideal for headphone practice, learning with dedicated apps, and recording at home or on the go. It suits both musicians wanting to improvise over backing tracks and content creators needing a compact solution for clean takes, with or without software processing.

Amp Modeling, Quick Recording, and Amp Output: A Complete Workflow

Immediately Usable Sound

Thanks to the included software, you load "studio" or "stage" style tones and instantly play with amp and effect modeling. The interface allows recording a DI track for later processing or a guitar track already processed in your DAW, depending on your production method.

Simple Control, Quality Monitoring

Level adjustment is done in one move via the large gain potentiometer, while the clipping indicator protects your takes by preventing digital distortion. For monitoring, the headphone and amp outputs deliver refined sound for such a compact format, enabling precise work on dynamics, attack, and sustain.

A True Bridge to Your Rig

When it's time to play louder, the dedicated amp output lets you send the signal to an amplifier with the option to bypass effects. Convenient for switching from headphone playing to rehearsal or using your sounds on a stage system without changing your routine.

Very simple device to use. I have already been able to perform several tests. It works just as well with an electric guitar as with an acoustic one. Regarding the acoustic guitar in question, it is equipped with a passive piezo sensor (with a very high impedance). With the IRIG USB, the signal is well captured when the gain is at maximum. For Android smartphone owners, the IRIG is perfectly recognized and allows native recording of the signal via the Camera (as an external microphone), the voice recorder, and all the recording applications I have tried. One remark concerns the quality of the plastic used. Something tells me it will quickly become sticky (like some remote controls).
