Description

Essential Information About the Apollo x8p Audio Interface (2nd Generation)

  • High-end 24-bit/192 kHz Conversion with "Dual Crystal Clocking" and the highest resolution ever offered by UA.
  • Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks for calibrated speaker and headphone monitoring, ensuring no surprises during mixing/mastering.
  • 8 Unison Preamps + HEXA Core DSP for recording with UAD plug-ins in real time, with near-zero latency.
  • Modernized Console Workflow: Auto-Gain, bass manager, plug-in scenes, and support for Surround up to 7.1.

The Heart of the Apollo Range for Multi-Mic Recording

Positioned between mixing-oriented models and highly dense conversion units, the Apollo x8p stands out with its 8 Unison mic preamps. It is the Universal Audio rack interface designed to capture drums, ensembles, or full sessions while maintaining the sonic signature and reliability of the Apollo series.

Who Is It For and What Are Its Uses?

Ideal for professional and advanced studios, demanding creators, live engineers, or post-production, the Apollo x8p excels whenever many mic inputs, precise monitoring, and a powerful hybrid workflow are needed. Artist tracking, multichannel recordings, editing and mixing in 7.1: it integrates with your DAW on Mac/Windows and evolves with your needs.

Key Features and New Additions

Conversion and Monitoring Calibration

The 2nd generation brings DACs with unprecedented definition at UA, stabilized by "Dual Crystal Clocking." Combined with Apollo Monitor Correction (Sonarworks), it allows you to calibrate your speakers and headphones for a stable stereo image and reliable mixing decisions.

Unison Preamps and Real-Time DSP

The 8 Unison preamps emulate the impedance and gain characteristics of hardware preamp signatures. Paired with the HEXA Core DSP, they enable tracking with UAD plug-ins without loading the host computer, even on complex processing chains.

Redesigned Console and Immersive Monitoring

In the UAD Console application, new plug-in scenes speed up your session recalls. Auto-Gain adjustment secures your levels, the bass manager optimizes multichannel systems, and Surround support up to 7.1 facilitates control, downmixing, and calibration.

Comprehensive Connectivity and Scalable Studio

With its two Thunderbolt 3 ports, the Apollo x8p can be chained up to four interfaces to reach 128 I/O. ADAT I/O, Word Clock BNC, dedicated monitor outputs, talkback, and two headphone outputs simplify daily life in both recording and mixing.
