Hello, I've played on Cort, Tokai, Fender JB, for 7 years, mainly reggae. Quite rare on the market, a 5-string short scale bass. This Ibanez was tested in Bassiste magazine and the review is largely positive, which convinced me to buy it. Here's mine: a retro sound like the 70s (we say vintage, I know), good pickups, special mention to the "Precision type" for its sensitivity, attack, dynamics, roundness. The JB type pickup is recessed and removes too much bass for my taste (I often play reggae...). The sustain is very good, the low B string a bit recessed.
The tuners seem weak to me, some are stiff, others have play, the pickguard is roughly drilled, the screws are not tight and it shows at first glance. Received poorly set up, neck to be reviewed, buzzing everywhere, pickups not set at the right height, but easy to fix (truss rod being adjusted, I raised the strings at the bridge to be able to play while the neck works). Apart from that, the finish is good.
It's a good bass not only for its low price, but for its sound, due to good craftsmanship and a great PB pickup. Made in Indonesia.
