Designed by Laney, a British brand with several decades of innovation, the DBF50 follows the line of modern combos aimed at combining dynamics, portability, and sonic identity. It adopts the aesthetics and ergonomics of next-generation amps, featuring lightweight electronics and controls that immediately resonate with bassists.
The DBF50 targets bassists from beginners to advanced players looking for a compact combo to practice, rehearse, and perform in café-concert settings. Its power reserve easily covers moderate volume bands and, thanks to the XLR DI, it integrates effortlessly into a PA system for larger stages or quick home studio recordings.
Two complementary FET/DRIVE channels can be used separately or blended to balance attack and saturation. The 3-band EQ provides precise adjustment, while TILT shifts the tonal balance (brighter or warmer) and PRESHAPE applies an effective "scooped" curve for deep lows and airy highs. The Master volume simplifies overall level control. Connectivity is comprehensive: XLR DI Out, effects loop for your pedals, 3.5 mm headphone output, and 3.5 mm auxiliary input for playing along with backing tracks. The footswitch jack accepts the FS1-Mini (optional) for channel switching with your foot.
As a bass amp with Class D amplification, the DBF50 delivers fast response and tight lows. The 10-inch HH Blue Audio speaker provides punch in the low-mids and clear definition in the highs. The FET channel offers an articulate clean with good headroom, ideal for precise finger or pick playing. The DRIVE channel adds musical saturation, dense yet controlled, perfect for thickening rock, pop, or funky styles. Natural compression remains subtle, and the TILT/PRESHAPE functions allow you to switch from a warm vintage tone to a more modern signature in seconds.
